New York, NY – The San Antonio District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration will honor Jeffrey James Vigil, President and CEO of My Business Matches with its 2017 Exporter of the Year. The award, which recognizes individuals for their success at facilitating and increasing the export of products and/or services, will be presented to Vigil on May 4 at 11:30 a.m. at Omni San Antonio Hotel at the Colonnade in San Antonio, Texas.
Vigil, a 20-year Navy veteran and founder of MBM— a cloud based global business matchmaking company— is being recognized for the company’s strategic growth and expansion in more than 102 countries, facilitating over 860,000 business matches in 2016, tracking over $15 billion in contracts, and reaching over 1.2 million users in the national and global marketplaces.
“This award is testament to our company’s real world solutions to export-related problems. All while encouraging assistance and cooperation between small businesses looking to enter the international market,” said Vigil. “[It] has proven to be a well-tuned, efficient machine with an array of user-friendly services and stream-lined operation that doesn’t have fillers or rubbish.”
The award comes not only as acknowledgement to MBM’s business prowess, but also as recognition for revamping the matchmaking process between Federal, State and Local Governments and the private sector’s business community, which had historically been complicated and inefficient. In addition to bringing both public and private sectors together, MBM has facilitated contracts between small businesses and Billion Dollar Roundtable members like CVS, AT&T, Wal-Mart and the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), which advances business opportunities for certified minority business enterprises and connects them to corporate members.
Furthermore, MBM has created state-of-the-art Portal Systems for the likes of AT&T and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Each portal is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The Inter-American Development Bank relies on MBM for several virtual events that facilitate worldwide engagement between countries like China, South Korea, Poland, Paraguay, Mexico, the U.S., to name a few. These matchmaking events put together by MBM led to profitable business relationships between many companies in Latin America, the Caribbean and Korea. “This is Business Matchmaking at its best, and the possibilities for our clients to foster profitable relationships are endless,” said Vigil.
Vigil is a believer in creativity and professional development, and greatly enjoys being a role model and mentor to his staff. He hopes to create the next generation of matchmakers.
